General Information

ISOFELT Mesh Reinforced Fiberglass Mat is a combination of wetlaid fiberglass roofing tissue (glass veil) with fiberglass weaving mesh. The combination is achieved through a lamination process, to increase the mechanical properties in both longitudinal & transversal directions. This product can increase the tensile strength, tear & puncture resistance of your finished roofing products. 

 

With 40 weaving mesh production lines, ISOFELT can produce fiberglass & polyester mesh with both plain & leno weaving methods. Based on customer needs, special tailor-made products are available to fulfill your diverse application requirements. 

Application

ISOFELT Mesh Reinforced Fiberglass Mat is an idea carrier material for SBS/APP modified bituminous waterproofing membrane & high-end asphalt shingles.

 

To achieve same tensile strength, this product has lower grammage than polyester nonwoven. It is more economical to use this material (compared with mesh reinforced spunbond polyester nonwoven) if there’s a high tensile strength but low elongation requirement for the finished roofing products. Beside roofing application, it can also be used in flooring and other industries.

2. Max. tensile strength subject to number of fiberglass filaments included in the specimen.

3. Special specifications are available based on customer requirements.  

4. If the clamp of testing machine is pure metal, please use soft nonwoven material as protection, to avoid fiberglass mesh broken by metal clamp, which will lead to inaccuracy of testing result.

5. Please guarantee enough clamp force to avoid fracture of partial filaments, which will lead to low result.
